Date:04/04/18
Day of
Week:Thursday
Location:934
Sunrise Blvd. Old Stonehouse Farm, next to 512
Time:1200
hours
Observation:Andrew
Dunne “My Boss”
Habitat: We
are unloading 16 bales off our Allis Chalmers Loader. We are stacking
it in the red horse barn that has 6 stales. 1 is filled with a black
horse grinding his teeth off the rails and pawing his left hoof. The
other 2 on the left hand side are empty. The far right one stores our
goats and the middle one has the stallion in it. We are stacking the
hay in the front right one so when we feed the horses we already have
it close. As we are unloading it the goats who are out keep jumping
on bales, butting heads and eating anything in sight. When I look
through the barn I see 3 black horses and a white one neighing
because they see the hay and are hungry.
Weather:
about 35 degrees with the sun showing and 10 mph winds coming out of
the west.
Remarks: I
see goats and horses while trying to focus on getting that perfect
angel to roll the bale to Andy so he does not have to move to pick up
the bale and stack it.
Comments:
I learned that goats love to eat anything and they have a solid head
because they keep ramming them into each others head. I am motivated
to keep working and put out more hay in 3 other spots.
Date-04/04/18
Day of the
Week-Wednesday
Location-
96 Mount Bethel Highway...Miler's Egg Ranch...near the Trolley Shop
and where 611 and 512 meet
Time-1400
hours
Observation-Alone
Habitat-I
am sitting on a giant teddy bear made from 4 big round hay bales as
the paws, body, and head. The 7 smaller square bales are for the
ears, hands and nose. While I sit on the right paw I am looking over a
2 acre corn field that has no corn left in it. To my right are 2 big
corn silos, the one is blue and the other is silver. The one corn
silo has an osprey's nest at the top of it that has been there for 4
years now. On the outside of the field are bare naked trees blowing
in the wind.
Weather-50
degrees out with overcast and 22mph winds, low humidity
Remarks-I
am cold since I just have a red flannel on and my butt is getting
damp from the wet hay bales. I am feeling peaceful watching nature do
its thing.
Comments-I
find it funny trying to watch the ospreys flying against the wind
because they tr hard but never get anywhere. I am motivated to get
back to work.
